A Little Bit About Me

Growing up surrounded by dogs inspired my passion to understand how to communicate, relate and fulfil their needs. I am fascinated by the way that dogs learn and interact with humans. I have been fortunate enough to own amazing rescue dogs who have taught me so much about canine behaviour and training.
Since becoming a member of the International Animal Association Behaviour Consultants (IAABC) and Association of Professional Dog Trainers New Zealand (APDTNZ), I have developed a huge appreciation for the enrichment of a dog's life and the value it brings to them and the owner. It is my hope to share this knowledge with dog owners like yourself to allow you both to get the best out of life.
My passion for dog training is with enrichment. The benefits of an enriched dog can support separation anxiety, aggression, your bond as well as learning how to enhance your dogs skills and training. There are many studies to show that although walks are a fantastic way to enhance your dogs wellbeing, dog puzzles, training, even just sniffing can promote calm behaviours in dogs as well as their mental health. It is important to me that every dog is treated as an individual, they all have their own personalities and it is important to recognise their innate drive when working with them.
Dog training and behaviour is an unregulated profession, therefore I have dedicated myself to pursue qualifications that are inline with my values and modern scientific methods. I believe that as science is always evolving, it is important to stay informed and apply the new techniques to my practice.
Whether it's through email or in person I am genuinely excited to enrich the bond between you and your dog through activities and training.
